Gabriele is a Canadian artist and musician,
who currently makes her home in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
She grew up in Southern Ontario, where she
worked her way through art college in Toronto singing jazz on the nightclub circuit. Although her major focus was
on painting, she also won the FujiFilm Award for her photography, and was named an Associate of the Ontario College of
Art upon her graduation in 1978.
Since then, she has worked in a
number of art related fields including graphic design, teaching and commissioned portraiture. Her portraits and other commissioned
work hang in private and corporate collections as far afield as Kingston, Jamaica, Rochester, New York, Toronto, Ontario and
of course Calgary, Alberta, where she has worked for the past 18 years. She
is well-known locally as a gifted teacher of drawing and painting for adults and children through her 14 year association
with the Midsun Community Centre.
Along with her artistic endeavours, music
remains an important part of her professional and private life. Gabriele is "Cantor" at St. Mary's Cathedral in Calgary,
and has released a CD of her favourite Christmas music in December 2007.
